Working with Your
Intuitive Information
Now that youâve been successful at accessing your intuition and receiving intuitive information through the exercises we did in the previous chapter, there are other things you canâand shouldâdo next. This is what weâre going to explore in this chapter: what you can do after youâve received intuitive information.
Depending on the situation and on the information you received, there are four more steps you can take: interpret, evaluate, distill, and apply. Letâs look at each of these steps in turn.
Interpret
Can you always work right away with the information you received intuitively? Well, take a look at the notes you took after doing the exercises in the previous chapter. Does all of the information you received make sense to you? Is all of that information literal, or is some of it symbolic or figurative? Is any of that information open to more than one interpretation?
If all of the information you received is literal, then in all likelihood thereâs no need to interpret any of it. However, if itâs not all literal, then interpretation is critical.
Interestingly, some people may primarily get either literal information or symbolic information. I know several intuitives who primarily receive symbolic information. Iâm glad that most of the information I receive is literal, but I have experienced times when the information I received was figurative or symbolic.
Receiving information in the form of an impression may also require interpretation or clarification, which weâll cover later in this chapter. That is the challenge of receiving intuitive impressions: it can be harder to wrap your arms around them and get a clear sense of their meaning.
Interpreting intuitive information can be tricky at times, just as interpreting dreams can be a challenge. Because youâre the one who has received the symbolic information, the symbol may contain meanings or interpretations that you would associate with it. However, if youâve received the information for someone elseâsomeone youâre reading or attempting to get information forâit could also have meanings that the person youâre reading forâor even aboutâmight have. This is where the process of interpretation can get really murky. Interpreting information is unfortunately not a straightforward task. Learning how to interpret information can involve a learning curve; however, you can indeed make progress and improve on doing it.
Letâs say you have a close friend named Erin whoâs getting married. Erin knows that youâve been working on developing your intuition and sheâs really concerned about how her upcoming wedding will go. She asks if you would mind seeing if you could get any information intuitively about this. You use the tuning-in procedure and keep getting coins. What would you tell Erin that this means? Coins could mean that there will be a lot of costs, possibly hidden ones, associated with the wedding. Coins could also mean that people will be giving money as a wedding gift or helping to pay for things. Coins could also mean that Erin will have to be innovative in some ways and âcoinâ some new procedures or approaches to the wedding.
